Schwarzenbergplatz is named after the Austrian Field Marshal Karl Schwarzenberg, who distinguished himself in the Napoleonic Wars. In its center there is an equestrian statue of this outstanding person and the High Stream fountain, and it is also the place where the Monument to the Heroes of the Soviet Army who fell in the battle for Vienna in 1945 is located. The Schwarzenberg Palace is also located here.
