Getreidegasse street

Getreidegasse
Austria, Salzburg
The Getreidegasse is the most famous street in Salzburg. It is a small alley in the heart of the Old Town. There are many shops and restaurants, the signs of which are made in the old style. The street existed during the Roman Empire, then it was called Trabgasse. In the 14th century, Getreidegasse gained popularity: noble people settled here, and the best city institutions opened.

Getreidegasse Street is a small old street that runs through the entire old city. Guild signs are still preserved on many houses as a recollection of the Middle Ages. The feature of the street is the signs of shops, which are stylized antique. You will definitely not see such a McDonald's or Salamander sign in another city : ) And be sure to look into all the courtyards, there are a lot of interesting things!
