Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula in Brussels
Belgium, Brussel
The Cathedral of Saints Michael and Gudula, the main cathedral of Brussels, has been built and rebuilt over many centuries. It was founded in 1047 by King Lambert II, and the final construction was completed at the end of the 15th century. The majestic Gothic building, two towers of which reach a height of 64 meters, is framed on all sides by sculptures of Catholic saints. The stained-glass windows of the Cathedral are a unique sight. Brussels Cathedral is the wedding venue for many Belgian monarchs.
