Cultural and Congress Center in Lucerne KKL - a strange name, but historical. On the site of the current giant building on the shore, near the pier, there was an old building of the cultural center, which the Lucerne residents considered ugly and obsolete. In Switzerland, everything is decided by the inhabitants by voting, including the ruble, in the sense of the franc. They collected money and ordered a new project from the architect Jean Nouvel. He wanted to build it in the form of a ship, right on the lake, he was not allowed to, but he did not refuse the idea and let the lake inside the building, a kind of Venetian canal, and built the main hall in the shape of a ship.→
