The Costume Procession is a traditional procession that takes place on the first Sunday of Oktoberfest. The procession starts from Maximilianium, passes through the entire center of Munich, and ends at Theresienstadt Meadow, where the beer pavilions of the festival are located. The length of the entire route is about seven kilometers, the procession lasts about two hours. The parade is attended by traditional breweries, orchestras, dance groups, shooting societies, national costume societies and about forty festively decorated horse teams.

On the first Sunday of Oktoberfest, from 10 am, a parade of national costumes "Trachten und Schuetzenzug" takes place in Munich. In 2015, this action will take place on September 20th. The route can be viewed here (red line) http://www. festring. de/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Zugweg-Plan2013.jpg The costumed procession takes to the streets of the capital of Bavaria every year since 1835. It has received the honorary title of the most beautiful, historically important and best organized in the world.→
