The Quarter of Discord or the Apple of Discord (la Manzana de la discordia) captures in stone the professional competition between the three great Catalan modernist architects: Antoni Gaudí (House Batlló ), Luis Dumenec y Muntaner (House Leo Morera) and Josep Puig y Cadafalch (House of Amalie). The facade of the House of Amalie is made in the Moorish style with Gothic elements. The building became famous after the Spanish confectioner Antonio Amalle bought it at the end of the 19th century and ordered its reconstruction by Puig i Cadafalco.→
