Sagrada Familia

Sagrada Familia, Sagrada Familia, Sagrada Familia, la Sagrada Família
Spain, Barcelona
Sagrada Familia is a church in the Eixample district, built on private donations since 1882, the famous project of Antoni Gaudí.

The first project was developed by the architect Francisco del Villar, who was replaced at the end of 1883 by A. Gaudi, who significantly changed the original project. According to the decision of the initiators of the construction of the temple, the financing of the work should be carried out exclusively at the expense of donations from the parishioners, which is one of the reasons for such a long construction. On November 7, 2010, the cathedral was consecrated by Pope Benedict XVI and was officially declared ready for daily worship.

If you only have one day in Barcelona, be sure to visit the Sagrada Familia! The Barcelona people once decided to build a huge beautiful temple in their home, and so that it would not look like anything before - and they succeeded! I will not describe - you just need to look. And not in a hurry - it took us 4 hours. Regarding the holivar on the topic "what Gaudi built is a masterpiece, but what after - everything was spoiled. " In 1994, I saw the temple, almost as Gaudi left it - that is, the pediment of the Gate of the Nativity and 4 towers.

To understand the SdF, it is necessary to add a theoretical part: who, how, how much and why built it, and not just came, looked, ticked, and moved on. If you buy a ticket online - a separate (small! ) queue. If build. work does not interfere - must see

The buildings of the great architect Gaudi have already become the hallmark of Barcelona today, but the Sagrada Familia (Sagrada Familia) occupies a special place among them. This building is so grandiose that, not yet being completed, it already attracts thousands of tourists from all over the world. What will happen when construction is finally completed? True, this will not happen very soon, they promise that the project will be completed only in 2025. But already now, the Gothic towers of the cathedral towering above the Catalan capital are simply amazing! The Sagrada Familia is unusual, beautiful and majestic, it is simply impossible to pass by without being frozen for a few minutes in amazement, looking at the intricate patterns and sculptures on the walls and towers of the temple.

Drop all expectations. Forget all the reviews you read. Go to the Temple ready to experience something new and different from what you have seen so far. The construction of the cathedral remained unfinished due to the death of the architect in 1926. The planned completion date for the construction of the temple is 2026. I ordered a ticket from home, via the Internet. Site http://www. ticketmaster. es/nav/landings/ca/mucho_mas/entradas_sagrada_familia/entradas.html Price per visit + audio guide + climb to the tower - 23.

This is amazing! ....you can not write anything further, because neither words, nor the power of imagination, and even more so photographs will not convey to you the feeling of the moment when you are inside the Sagrada Familia. This is the only fantastic creation that literally shocked me. I can say with certainty that you will not see this anywhere else. It's worth the money, the time, the queue, and it's worth coming to Barcelona for that alone! By the way, in order not to stand in a huge queue, it is worth booking a ticket on the Internet.

In the Sagrada Familia (full name: Expiatory Temple of the Holy Family) we were in the summer. I knew there were long lines to get inside. True, you can not stand in them, but buy an entrance ticket on the Internet, but you need to know the exact date and exact time of your visit, so we did not buy a ticket in advance, because we did not know when we would get to the temple. We stood in line for about 1.5 hours. But trust me it was worth it! External facades struck with their unusual images. Each of them has its own idea and history of creation.

As for the Sagrada Cathedral, my opinion did not work out, either this is a structure created by a sick mind, or it is a brilliant creation of mankind. Well, it does not fit into the well-known canons of the construction of cathedrals, it does not look like what I have seen before. We decided to take the subway to Sagrada (the subway in Barcelona is quite decent, not like the dirty, kind of rundown subway in Rome). We sat on Columbus Square near the embankment, one change and we were at the cathedral.
