Marimurtra Botanical Garden

Marimurtra Botanical Garden, Mar i Murtra Botanic Garden
Spain, Costa Brava
Marimurtra Botanical Garden is one of the most beautiful in Europe. It is located in the town of Blanes on the Spanish Costa Brava. The garden has more than 3,000 different types of plants, located on an area of several hectares. Its vegetation is divided into three climatic zones, and within them - into sectors by country. In addition to studying plants in the botanical garden, you can take in the surrounding views from the Mirador von Humboldt tower, or simply relax in the shade on one of the many benches.

After reading reviews that this is the best botanical garden in Europe, I had a dream to get there. I can say right away that the estimates are exaggerated. Yes, well, yes, beautiful views of the coast and rocks, but this is not an assessment of the garden, but an assessment of the surrounding nature. If you have been to the Sochi arboretum, then this garden will hardly impress you. I think that in spring, when everything is in bloom, it is more beautiful there than in September. The variety of plants is really great, from various cacti to ordinary tomatoes and zucchini, there are pomegranates and quince, palm trees and a "money" tree .

The garden "Mar and Murtra" was founded by the German botanist Karl Faust, who in 1918 acquired a plot of land in the Blanes area. On a relatively small plot of land, an amazing collection of plants has been collected that will not leave anyone indifferent.

You can spend the whole day in this garden. There are a lot of exotic plant species (especially cacti), but the most breathtaking are the sea views. There are many shaded benches in the alleys where you can sit and relax. In general, super!

This botanical garden is commendable. I love visiting botanical gardens, but Marimurtra is top of my list. I have not seen more well-maintained land and more developed gardens. It is impossible to describe the beauty - in one word: paradise. In addition, entry is inexpensive and you can have a great day enjoying the sea views. I recommend taking pictures with a parrot on your shoulder. A photo costs money, but it is a cool souvenir that keeps memories. I highly recommend)
