Montgri Castle is located 10 km from Torroella de Montgri on Mount Santa Caterina. The construction of the castle began in the 13th century by order of King Jaume II of Aragon. First of all, defensive walls were built and four cylindrical towers were erected. However, in the middle of the 15th century, the fortress was completely abandoned. It was decided to restore the castle only in 1988. From the tops of the towers, beautiful views of the local surroundings open up, from here you can see the Medes Islands.

unhurried rise

An excellent, wonderful, quiet, calm alley turned out when climbing the mountain. The view from above was like a reward for the journey. It took us about 50 minutes to climb, it could be faster, but we wanted to enjoy the process.→
