The building of the former Escorxador slaughterhouse, built in 1889 by the architects Pere Caselles and Francesc Borras, address: Carrer de l'Escorxador. The building is considered a unique example of early Catalan modernism. Interestingly, the slaughterhouse was located here until 1970. Today, the building houses the central library. In front of Escorxador is the work of contemporary artist Jaume Plensa. The "brothers" of this "man on the trumpet" are also in Nice and Andorra.
