The pillars are present on the Spanish coat of arms, Spain to this day claims to return this territory to itself. The coat of arms with pillars was on the coins of Spain, the country that discovered America, from where the image of the pillars supposedly migrated to the US dollar in the form of a pair of vertical lines.
The cape closest to Africa turned out to be a beautiful and rather deserted area: the Lady of Europe, a snow-white mosque (there are quite a lot of Muslims in Gibraltar), a naval gun from an artillery battery of ancient times and a monument to Vladislav Sikorsky, who died in 1943 in a plane crash near Gibraltar. It is generally accepted that the disaster was accidental, but many noticed that the British pilot of the British plane put on a life jacket before the fatal flight, which he had never done before! Sikorsky's dreams about the post-war future of Poland did not coincide with Comrade Churchill's plans.
