Margit Hid, Margaret Bridge
Hungary, Budapest
The Margaret Bridge is one of the bridges across the Danube. It consists of two parts connected at an angle at the southern cape of Margaret Island. It was built in 1876 according to a French design and named after Princess Margaret, daughter of the famous King Bela IV. The bridge was blown up by the Nazis in 1945 during the retreat and rebuilt in the 50s of the twentieth century, and its last reconstruction was completed in 2011.

The Margaret Bridge is the second oldest bridge in Budapest after the Szechenyi Bridge. The main feature of the bridge is that it consists of two parts, which are connected into a single whole on the island of Margaret, which is located in the middle of the Danube. The bridge pillars are beautifully decorated with statues, while the bridge itself glitters brightly in the sun.
