King Herod became famous for his cruelty, his name became a household name and is recorded in legends, but there was another side to this personality - during his reign, construction was actively carried out. Since those years, a lot of water has flowed under the bridge, but the scale of what was built can be judged by the remains of his estate on the Mediterranean coast - Caesarea. This name in honor of Caesar - the emperor of Ancient Rome - was given to the city by Herod himself, who received it as a gift from Augustus Caesar.
