City of Old Jaffa

Jaffa, Old Jaffa
Israel, Tel Aviv
Jaffa is one of the main ports of ancient Israel and one of the oldest cities in the world. In 1950, the cities of Tel Aviv and Jaffa were merged and are governed by one municipality. Nevertheless, Jaffa retained its originality.

Old Jaffa has now been turned into one big tourist and art center with numerous restaurants, art galleries, artists' studios, flea markets, salons, museums and archaeological sites. The main population here is also peculiar - artists, musicians, sculptors and other people of "creative specialties".

Jaffa is one of the most ancient cities in the world. It occupies a small area right next to modern Tel Aviv. Our 10-day trip to Israel could not do without visiting this picturesque place. Walking along the ancient streets, you involuntarily mentally move to biblical times, when Jews and Romans walked here, Alexander the Great, and Napoleon, and the Ottomans were here ... Our guide was just wonderful, sometimes, in order not to miss his fascinating stories, I even forgot to take a photo. Our tour began from the highest point of the city, which offers an incredible view of the Mediterranean Sea and the modern districts of Tel Aviv.
