The Church of San Francesco is one of the six great basilicas of the Catholic Church, located in the Italian region of Umbria, in Assisi. The temple was built in 1228-1253 as the central basilica of the Sacro Convento monastery. The church is a two-story building, made in the style of Italian Gothic, at the southern facade has a 60-meter bell tower. The Church of San Francesco is world famous for its cycle of 13th-century wall frescoes depicting the life of Saint Francis.

It is one of the six great basilicas of the Catholic Church. There is no large influx of tourists. more and more pilgrims. The severity and beauty of the interior leave an indelible impression.
