Square of the Holy Annunciation

Place of the Most Holy Annunciation in the historical center of Florence, which harmoniously hosts buildings built in the style of the Italian Renaissance. The square is adorned with two baroque fountains and an equestrian monument to the Grand Duke of Tuscany, Ferdinand I de' Medici.

Santissima Annunziata Square
The Church of Santissima Annunziata, built in 1250 by the Order of Servites (Servants of Mary), is considered the center of Santissima Annunziata Square. This basilica received its current appearance in 1444 - 1477, undergoing reconstruction under the leadership of Michelozzo and Leon Battista Alberti. Features of the Baroque style appeared in the church until the XVIII century, which gave the basilica an unexpectedly festive look. Today the church houses a small museum of painting, also called the "Monastery of Vows".→

Santisma Annunziata Square
A very beautiful area. There is information on it. Take a walk, you won't regret it. Well, do not forget to count the bees on the coat of arms of the equestrian statue of Ferdinando 1 and you will be happy.→
