Cafe Pedrocchi

Caffe Pedrocchi
Italy, Padua
Cafe Pedrocchi was opened by Antonio Pedrocchi in 1831, in 1842 several more halls for visitors were made on the second floor. The cafe was a center of cultural leisure for the inhabitants of Padua, various exhibitions and holidays were held here. In 1848, activists of the Italian national liberation movement against foreign rule gathered in the Pedrocchi cafe. But this institution gained its popularity due to the fact that for 85 years, starting from 1831, it worked around the clock, without closing the doors, for which it was nicknamed the “cafe without doors”.
To date, the Pedrocchi cafe consists of 11 halls: three halls are located on the first floor of the building and are painted in the national colors of the Italian flag, and eight halls are located on the second floor and are decorated in the style of different eras.

Unfortunately, it was raining, the summer playground was not open yet and the cafe looked usually gray and boring. There was no time to visit him, and the desire somehow did not arise. We decided that we would leave it for the next, possible visits. But in a nearby store they bought "Amarone", which they were satisfied with. Cafe "without doors" was with a lot of closed doors.
