You can be absolutely indifferent to painting in general, and to the work of Van Gogh in particular. You can go to the museum "for show" or just to "kill time". Doesn't matter. You definitely won't leave here indifferent. How many different energies come from his paintings! From bewitching tender to screamingly disturbing, when you want to move away from the canvas very quickly ...My absolute favorite was Van Gogh's Almond Blossom. You can endlessly look at this canvas, which he painted, having heard from his beloved brother Theo, the joyful news of the birth of his son (Van Gogh's only nephew).

On my first visit to Amsterdam, I wanted to share two museums, that is, go to the Rexmuseum, and to the Van Gogh Museum in the spring, but ...I could not resist. I love all impressionists. Everything that I could find by the time of the trip about Van Gogh was read and revised. All the more fortunate that my husband refused to go and I did not have to act as a lecturer. To say that the museum was amazing is an understatement. I'm lucky. There were no queues at the paintings or at the museum. Entrance then cost 14 euros.

Floor by floor, the museum guides you not only through the stages of creativity, but also through the life milestones of the artist. Two types of storytelling - paintings and history are intertwined, heating up your emotions, deepening your understanding. To be honest, I didn't have much expectations before visiting, and bought a ticket more "for show", but, having reached the last floor, I was so impressed that I could hardly hold back tears. Van Gogh for me personally turned out to be the culmination of my entire visit to Amsterdam, and the most significant and memorable museum.
