Weight Chamber

Waah, Waag, St. Anthony's Gate, Sint Antoniespoort
Netherlands, Amsterdam
The Chamber of Weights is the oldest non-religious building in Amsterdam, built back in 1488 as a gate to the city wall. In the 17th century, a weight service worked here, and the guilds of blacksmiths, artists, masons, and doctors were located on the upper floors. In the 20th century, the building was occupied by museums, then by a library. Currently, a restaurant is located in the Weight Chamber.

This is the only city gate preserved from the Middle Ages. After the canal was drained, the gates to the Chamber of Weights and Measures were closed and the guilds of artisans began to be located. And for me it is interesting because here in the anatomical theater of the guild of doctors, Rembrandt wrote his "Anatomy Lesson".
