Oslofjorden, Oslo Fjord
Norway, Oslo
Oslo Fjord is a picturesque bay in the southeastern part of Norway. It stretches from north to south for 102 kilometers from the capital Oslo to the Danish straits. There are more than a thousand islets on the surface of the bay, most of which are inhabited. Oslo Fjord is one of the favorite holiday destinations for Norwegians. Here you can go fishing, kayaking or sailing. The famous artist Edvard Munch worked on the banks of the Oslo Fjord, this place is captured in his most famous painting, The Scream.

The Oslo Fjord is, geographically speaking, not a fjord. It is a bay that stretches from the Danish Straits in the south to Oslo in the north. But that doesn't make it any less awesome : ) 1. You can admire the Oslo Fjord from the Oslo embankment. 2. You can take a cruise on the Oslo Fjord - a classic 2-hour cruise will cost about NOK 270 (2015 prices). 3. Or you can use the city water transport and take a walk along the Oslo Fjord to the Museum Island, enjoying the views along the way. Those who wish can visit some of the most popular museums of the city on the island: the Kon-Tiki Museum, the Viking Ship Museum, the Fram Ship Museum and the Norwegian Ethnographic Museum.
