Kristiansten Fortress, Kristiansten Festning, Christiansten
Norway, Trondheim
Kristiansten Fortress is located on a hill near the city of Trondheim in Norway. It was built in 1681-1685 to protect the city from attack from the east. In 1718, the fortress withstood the siege by the Swedish troops. In 1750 it was reconstructed and new new bastions and casemates were added. Currently, the Christiansten fortress has been turned into a museum and is open to visitors.

Nice place to walk, but overall pretty unpretentious. The fortress is small, inside there is a small museum dedicated to a single battle in 1718 with the Swedes, in which this fortress actually showed itself. It is located on a hill, so from above there is an interesting view of the city center.
