The Monument to Adam Mickiewicz (Polish: Pomnik Adama Mickiewicza) is located in Krakó w on the Market Square. The building is a favorite meeting place for locals and tourists, as well as one of the most recognizable symbols of Krakó w. A monument designed by sculptor Theodor Rieger was erected on June 16.1898 on the occasion of the centenary of the birth of Adam Mickiewicz. Theodor Rieger's project won first place during a competition held from 1880 to 1890. The cost of the monument amounted to 164 thousand zlotys.→
