Unlike the Khoynovskaya tower, the Glogovskaya tower was built over the entrance gate to the city of the same name. Moreover, it appeared on the site of an older structure erected in the 13th century. Interestingly, in the next century, Legnica was completely surrounded by high walls. Thanks to EU subsidies, reconstruction was carried out in 2008-2012, and the tower is in good condition. The tower is available for visiting. It currently serves as a tourist information centre. It is located next to the Piast Castle.

The Tower of the Glogovski Gate (on the north side) was erected from Gothic brick in the 15th century, on the site of an older foundation from the late 13th century. The tower, measuring 8.20 x 8.20 m, is covered with a rather high tetrahedral roof - introduced here in the second half of the 19th century - has a high passage, with a barrel vault. Three floors of the tower are marked by offsets in the thick wall.
The culmination of the battlements was typical of medieval defensive structures, from behind which attacked the advancing enemies. On the southern wall of the tower (from the side of the castle) a sundial has been preserved.

Initially, the tower was not through, it had only a protective function. In the 19th century, the tower was covered with a four-sided roof, and a pointed arch was drilled into the basement. The battlements, firing windows, and sundial dial were left in their current state, but later, in the 20th century, the battlements were bricked up.

Historically, four gates led to the city, but only the highest gates Chojnovskie (from the west) and Glogovskie (from the north), which had a drawbridge, were preserved, along which it was possible to get to the castle. The medieval tower of the Gł owski Gate was included in the system of more extended modern fortifications, although after 1860 the city walls were demolished.
Thus, to this day have survived: small sections of the defensive walls and two gates have been preserved: the tower of the Chojnov Gate (erected to the east of the castle), and at the intersection of st. Glogovskie gate and Piastowska street, the tower of Glogovski gate. Heading to the Piast castle, you will definitely see it.
