Herring houses (kamyanitsy), also known as herring houses (Kamienice Sledziowe - Sledziowki) - a complex of eight three-storey historic apartment buildings located in the market quarter in Legnica, in the immediate vicinity of the Old Town Hall. This is a complex of Renaissance (four) and Classicist (four) apartment buildings, probably built in the 16th century on the site of former herring stalls (the first mention of their existence dates back to 1574).

The variety of styles is the result of numerous renovations that influenced these buildings over the following centuries. And I like it - unity in diversity! The Gothic cellars are located in the building closest to the town hall. Townhouses No. 54 and 55 are decorated with frescoes (sgraffiti). This decoration was created around 1570, then covered with plaster and rediscovered in 1934.
The coat of arms of the Principality of Legnica-Brest and the image of a female and male head were placed on the round cartouche fields.

A charming place on the square where you can have a successful photo shoot.
