Since the thirteenth century, the "Old Town" of Warsaw has been the most important center of the city and its main attraction. During the period of hostilities of the Second World War, the historical buildings of the "Old Town" area did not survive. Reconstruction work was carried out using old photographs and architectural schemes, which made it possible to return the "Old Town" to its medieval appearance.
