Museum of Islamic Art

Qatar, Doha
The museum is located in Doha, the capital of the Arab state of Qatar. The three-story building with halls, built on the edge of the city harbor by the famous American architect Bei Yuming, is unique in the Persian Gulf countries. There is an extensive collection of various items of Islamic art - manuscripts, textiles, ceramics. The highlight of the museum complex is the lack of general lighting in the halls: each exhibit is illuminated by a certain beam of light. It is noteworthy that the museum building houses a gourmet restaurant offering visitors Mediterranean cuisine.

If you are in Doha, be sure to visit. From many hotels there is an absolutely free shuttle service to this museum. The building is quite young, the museum was opened in 2008. The modern building, in the ancient style, majestically "looks" at the bay and the Corniche. Entrance is paid, for three we paid 125 QAR. Son, 17 years old, counted at a discount as a student. Inside there is a panoramic restaurant where you can dine in a pleasant environment. There is a souvenir shop, but the prices are not very democratic) In complete silence, in the gloomy halls, a collection of ancient exhibits from different Islamic countries is collected.
