Shad Tchup Ling Monastery (translated from Tibetan - “Place of Practice and Realization”) was founded in 1995 in the north of the Sverdlovsk region near the territory of the Perm Territory and the border between Europe and Asia on Mount Kachkanar (878 meters above sea level) not far from the city of the same name Kachkanar. It was founded by a retired officer Mikhail Sannikov, he graduated from a Buddhist institute in Buryatia and received the name Lama Sanye Tenzin Dokshit. He received an instruction to found a monastery in this place and with such a name from his mentor.
