Shad Tchup Ling Monastery (translated from Tibetan - “Place of Practice and Realization”) was founded in 1995 in the north of the Sverdlovsk region near the territory of the Perm Territory and the border between Europe and Asia on Mount Kachkanar (878 meters above sea level) not far from the city of the same name Kachkanar. It was founded by a retired officer Mikhail Sannikov, he graduated from a Buddhist institute in Buryatia and received the name Lama Sanye Tenzin Dokshit. He received an instruction to found a monastery in this place and with such a name from his mentor. Several monks and novices from 3 to 20 people live, practice and perform construction work in the monastery. Shad Tchup Ling, the only Buddhist monastery in the Urals, is an educational institution. According to the plans of Lama Dokshit, the monastery will be completed by 2295. Construction is carried out year-round on their own.
It was necessary to hurry to visit there - there is already a court decision in favor of the mining company "YERAZ" on the demolition of the monastery for the sake of mining ore here, but they cannot lift the equipment to the mountain to execute the court decision by demolishing the manually built one. If the problem cannot be resolved, then not only the monastery, but also the mountain itself with unique rock formations will be a deep quarry! It is proposed to move the monastery to another mountain, but according to the spiritual rules, this cannot be done. I hope that the authorities will solve the problem without demolishing the only Ural and one of the northernmost monasteries of Buddha worshipers.
