The Kul Sharif Mosque is one of the largest Muslim temples in Europe, located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin, the Republic of Tatarstan. Named in honor of the last imam seid of Kazan in the 16th century. Kul Sharif is a unique historical and architectural complex: there is a mosque itself, an Islamic museum, a publishing house, and an administrative building. Erected according to the project of architects Saifullin I.F., Latypov Sh.Kh., Sattarov A.G., Safronov, M.V. donations from 40,000 people. Construction was carried out from 1996 to 2005. White marble, onyx, granite, brought from the Urals, were used for decoration. The interior of the mosque is made in the traditions of Tatar architecture and is decorated with Roman mosaic patterns, many gilded elements, stone and wood carvings, Persian carpets, beautiful colored stained-glass windows on the windows. The grand opening took place in 2005, on the occasion of the 1000th anniversary of Kazan and the joy of believers.

In Tatarstan, it is commonly believed that the Kul Sharif mosque is the largest in Europe, but in reality this is not so, although the building is impressive: the height is 57 meters, the capacity is one and a half thousand people. The mosque is located on the territory of the Kazan Kremlin Museum-Reserve, construction under the auspices of the President of Tatarstan Shaimiev lasted from 1996 to 2005, the opening was timed to coincide with the millennium of Kazan, a year later a museum was opened in the mosque.
