The Slovak National Theater is one of the most famous and oldest theaters in Slovakia. The theater began its activity at the end of the 19th century in a beautiful historical building in the center of Bratislava on Hviezdoslav Square. Currently, the extensive troupe of the theater is housed in two buildings. The second building was specially built for the needs of the theater and solemnly opened in 2007. The halls of the modern building of the theater can simultaneously accommodate more than 1600 spectators.
The Slovak National Theater includes the Academic Theatre, as well as the Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Slovak National Theater
Slovakia's most famous theater has the title of national and has stages, which are located in two buildings located in different parts of the city. The main building of the theater is located in the historic center of Bratislava on Gvezdoslav Square. It is a magnificent Neo-Renaissance palace with a large loggia supported by elegant columns. It was built in 1884-1886 by Austrian architects F. Fellner and H. Helmer. The pediment of the theater is decorated with a sculptural composition, the central place in which is the image of the muse of Talia.→
