The ruins of the ancient city of Olympos are located 70 kilometers from Antalya in the territory of the National Park, near the village of Cirali. It arose around the 3rd century BC. The patron of Olympos was the god of fire and blacksmithing - Hephaestus, and this is explained by the fact that nearby is the "fire-breathing" Mount Chimera. Now there is not much left of the ancient city of Olympos. The city is heavily overgrown and rather poorly preserved - you can look at the old riverbed, the colonnade, the remains of the fortress walls, the remains of buildings overgrown with greenery, the necropolis, the ruins of a small theater. Chimera is the only mountain in the world on the slope of which natural fire burns 365 days a year. The explanation is simple - there is a gas underground, which, breaking out and coming into contact with air, ignites spontaneously. From this, the surface of the mountain is covered with bonfires, it looks especially impressive and spectacular at night. During the day, it offers a beautiful view of the surroundings and the sea.

Interesting excursion. Wonderful views.
We rested in Kemer. We visited the official representative office of "Ginza Travel" in Kemer. Our hotel was next to this office, we passed by and decided to stop by. From the manager Kibar Tairov, they bought an excursion "Ancient city of Olympos and Fires of the Chimera (Yanartash). The price of the issue turned out to be 18 euros. This is significantly cheaper than the hotel guide. The tour started at 16:30 at the Ginza Travel office. We got into a jeep" DODGE" and went on an excursion. The first visit to the ancient city of Olympos and Cirali beach.→
