Geothermal springs of Pamukkale

Pamukkale, Pamukkale, Hot springs
Turkey, Pamukkale
Pamukkale is a unique natural site containing 17 hot springs with temperatures ranging from 35 to 100 degrees. Water flowing down the mountain forms travertines - small pools with limestone walls. The springs have healing properties, so the flow of tourists in Pamukkale is inexhaustible.

Bought a tour to join up. Did not like it because too little time for inspection (less than 3 hours). The guide constantly adjusted. As a result, they ran at a gallop on the terraces, in Hierapolis did not have time. All in order to visit the tasting of "unique" wines, the onyx factory. They also wanted to take them to the textile factory, but the passengers revolted.

Traveled from Marmaris, bought from TUI. From the good - a comfortable bus, a Russian-speaking guide, shared information about Turkey along the way. Departure from the hotel was at 5:30 am, a meager and very hasty breakfast at a roadside cafeteria around 7:00 am, the travel time from Marmaris to Pamukkale took almost 5 hours (including a stop for breakfast 30 min. , and at the onyx shopping point - 45 min). Pictures from Pamukkale look much more beautiful, in real life the most recognizable cascade was without water, and the part where you can walk is oversaturated with people (although in the season, they say, it happens much more.

This place is worth seeing. The landscapes are just gorgeous. We drove from Alanya for about 5 hours, but it's worth it. The tour was bought for $40 with lunch and dinner included. Be sure to take hats with you, because the sun is very hot at lunchtime. Very blind without glasses. This place is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The photos turn out great. A must to visit!

We traveled from Kemer, 4 hours one way, took a tour in a Turkish agency. Personally, I'm not happy, in the pictures of the prospectuses: multi-cascade bowls with azure water, but in fact - one strip of travertines with muddy water and a bunch of people swarming in them! Salvation from complete disappointment is Cleopatra's pool! But for visiting it you have to pay another $ 10, you can’t take pictures in it, only with a local photographer ((( The amphitheater is super!

I have already read one review that from any point this attraction is very far away and completely agree, it’s a pity I didn’t know this before. I read the reviews, what is worth seeing, looked at a lot of photos, I think I should go there too) We usually take excursions not from a tour operator, so we contacted the "local" reviews, a very good company and began to find out what and how, and then they began to dissuade me, that the trip will take about 16 hours (from Alanya), and they began to offer excursions on a yacht with a disco and so on.

Beautiful, worth a visit if only for the photo. Already after 8 in the morning it is quite crowded, but you will not swim there for a long time. so be patient. It is better to see all the beauty in general from the side of the park (there are excellent observation platforms). From September 15, for the entire cold period, the entrance to the terraces is closed (they are reborn naturally)

We rested in Turkey, visited a local attraction. Pamukkale baths of Cleopatra. To be honest, this is my subjective opinion, this tour did not cause a big impression. The ruins of ancient Greece (former territory) are scattered over a vast mountainous plain area. Thermal spring, reminiscent of a bath with a huge number of people. For those who do not like a warm bath, it will not bring pleasure. The limestone terraces of the mountains can be viewed once for general information. Moving along them is difficult and dangerous, especially for children and the elderly.

It's better to see it once than to read everything about it. Stunning, amazing miracle of nature. Very emotional. It was very hot, under 50", so we spent most of the time on the white mountain, walking barefoot on travertines, and, of course, swimming in the Cleopatra pool. But the remains of the ancient city of Hierapolis should also be seen, albeit walking, the energy is powerful and memories for a lifetime provided. I recommend!

PAMUKKALE ($35) - be everything! To be in Turkey and not go to Pamukkale? ! There is an expression in Turkey: Whoever has not been to Pamukkale has not seen Turkey! Pamukkale in Turkey is a famous natural monument. This place is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It consists of an ancient volcanic plateau, which is located more than 100 m above the valley. There are a lot of thermal springs here, the temperature in which reaches + 45 ° C, and on the slopes there are many streams that form snow-white travertine terraces due to salts.
