Geothermal springs of Pamukkale

Disappointing with Pamukkale

Traveled from Marmaris, bought from TUI. From the good - a comfortable bus, a Russian-speaking guide, shared information about Turkey along the way.
Departure from the hotel was at 5:30 am, a meager and very hasty breakfast at a roadside cafeteria around 7:00 am, the travel time from Marmaris to Pamukkale took almost 5 hours (including a stop for breakfast 30 min. , and at the onyx shopping point - 45 min). Pictures from Pamukkale look much more beautiful, in real life the most recognizable cascade was without water, and the part where you can walk is oversaturated with people (although in the season, they say, it happens much more...I can’t even imagine!!! ), in some In some places, oncoming streams warm up in rather narrow places over the abyss, in some places it is very slippery !!!

You need to take off your shoes and do not forget your glasses - the sun reflects off the surface and is very blinding. Well, a headdress - there is practically no shadow there.
Cleopatra's bath is a hot puddle with a huge amount of people in it and pieces of destroyed columns at the bottom, on which you can beat your feet great. It is more pleasant to look at her from above, especially considering the $ 10 for this "bathing". Hieropolis is a rather large ancient ruined city, it would be interesting for me to take a walk and inspect it longer, rather than running in a hurry and looking at the clock. But for all these objects (cotton mountain, Cleopatra's bath, the ancient city of Hieropolis) 3 hours were allocated ...because the guide was very worried about the time. Surprise! Ahead is 2 more points for cotton and wine-delight shopping.

In total, we spent 7-8 hours on the bus, 3 hours in shops, 3 hours in Pamukkale / Hieropolis. If we had been honestly warned about shopping, we would not have gone ...but the hotel guide needs to sell a tour, the tour guide needs to ensure that "hamsters" enter the shops.
I don’t want to swear and spoil my mood, but these store-bought swindlers are rather disgusting: lures with numbers, discount coupons (only for you -10%), for which the guide at the checkout has a commission.

There are people who are interested in this, there are special shopping tours, so when it is imposed on you, it is very unpleasant. Ask at the place of purchase of the tour about all the objects to visit and the time for them (check if there will be shops), read in the reviews what to take (glasses, swimsuit, headdress), what is included / not included in the price (breakfast, lunch, Cleopatra's bath etc. ), then, perhaps, the trip will bring you more pleasure.

Perhaps someday we will return on our own, with an overnight stay there and a leisurely walk - this would bring completely different impressions.
