Manor Chechel

Sadiba Chechelya
Ukraine, Khmelnytskyi
The palace and park complex in Samchiki was founded in 1725 by the Polish landowner Jan Hoetsky, who built his own estate, which did not differ in a special architectural style - the Old Palace, which was later used as an office building. The next owner of the village of Samchiki was Gaysinsky headman, Colonel Peter Chechel, who began the construction of a luxurious, according to the idea, palace on the banks of the Sluch River, inviting some of the best European craftsmen.

The Empire-style palace was built by the most famous Polish architect at that time, Jakub Kubicki, the landscape park was created by the Irish gardener Dionysus McClair, the interiors were designed by the Italian sculptor Jean Baptiste Tsagliano. On the territory of 18 hectares in a picturesque landscape park around a one-story palace with a portico over the entrance, supported by six white columns, there are household buildings, a tomb, and a church.
For inspection are available: Round, Green, Roman and Great halls; Japanese office with unique murals with dragons, birds and flowers. About 200 species of shrubs and trees grow in the park, the Gothic Alley with a hill-arbor, the ruins of a greenhouse are preserved here, a Chinese house is located here, which served as a refrigerator glacier. In 1997, the palace and park ensemble in Samchiki received the status of the State Historical and Cultural Reserve.
