The musical fountain in Krivoy Rog was opened on May 28, 2011 to mark the city's 236th birthday, along with the nearby monument to the founder of Krivoy Rog — Cossack Rog. The light-dynamic musical fountain, built with charity money, is located on the square in front of the city council building. Water jets rhythmically change their height and frequency to classical music, and in the evening the action is accompanied by a wonderful color show. The height of the central jet reaches eight meters, around it there are three rings of smaller fountains. Bronze plaques embedded in the sidewalk indicate the distance to the largest cities on the planet.
