Lubech St. Anthony Monastery

Ukraine, Liubech
An Orthodox male monastery founded on the site of a cave, which St. Anthony of the Caves dug out at the beginning of the 11th century on the outskirts of Lyubech. The monastery was destroyed in the XIII century, but later restored. The monastery complex included a cave with St. Anthony's Church, the Church of the Resurrection of Christ, a skete with St. Onufriev's Church, the refectory church of St. Joachim and Anna, cells. The monastery was liquidated in 1786 as part of the secularization of church land ownership. Only a cave has survived to this day, which is associated with St. Anthony of the Caves. On the site where the monastery stood, a memorial cross was erected.

Nothing remains of the monastery except the Far and Near Anthony Caves. In its place is a memorial cross. Since it is a mountain, the view is beautiful. Excavations are underway. A few years ago, two tombstones were dug out with the help of a metal detector, which were strewn with coins. Coins are brought even now - to remember and ask for intercession. According to legend, if a woman leaves coins here and prays, she will definitely be happy in family life.
