The Church of the Holy Great Martyr and Victorious George is a temple on the territory of the Memorial of Military Glory in Odessa. The temple was created in order to pay tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War - the military personnel of the 411th coastal battery. The initiative group for the construction of the temple included more than two hundred people: residents of the village of Tairov, the village of Druzhny, the command staff of the border unit, heads of enterprises and deputies of the city, who made a request to the city authorities to build on the territory adjacent to the Memorial of Military Glory of Odessa, on the place of the heroic defense of the city, the temple of the Holy Great Martyr and Victorious George, the patron of the Slavic army.
