The settlement of Chuchin is located on the territory of the village of Balyko-Shuchinka near Rzhishchev. As a result of the archaeological excavations, many valuable artifacts dating back to the 12th-13th centuries were discovered, and then a monument was erected to Boyan, one of the characters in The Tale of Igor's Campaign. Also on this site is the memorial "Bukrinsky bridgehead", dedicated to the heroes of the eponymous operation of the Second World War.
