The first church in Stoyanov was wooden and was built in honor of St. Wojtych. It lasted until the 80s of the XIX century. It burned down as a result of the fire.
The new church was built in 1901 in the Gothic style. Although there were few Polish parishioners, the church was striking in its scale. Since 1939, the church began to fall. In 1944, the last priest, Franciszek Shansevich, was killed. The parish was left without a spiritual shepherd and was closed.
During the Soviet era, the church building was used for other purposes and suffered greatly from this. Outwardly, its stone walls were little damaged, but the stained-glass windows were knocked out. Inside, the altar and images were destroyed.
Restoration began in 1989. Today the church is active.
