Why was the monument dedicated to the bag? Because according to one of the versions, the name of the city comes from three bags of gold, which were found at the site of the founding of Sumy. According to another version, the name of the city comes from the Sumka River, which flowed here. The monument to the bag was a gift from the Sumy community of Kyiv (installed in 2008). The author is a native of Sumy, Alexey Shevchenko. The monument is made in the form of a well, from which a bag was pulled out, and the arch above the well symbolizes the vault of heaven and infinity, and the bag is the source of life and prosperity.→
