The square was designed in 1968 and bore the name of Lenin, typical for that time. On the right is the hotel "Sumy" (now closed), on the left - the regional administration. It was designed at that time with the idea that from a bird's eye view a sickle (administration) and a hammer (hotel) would be created. Today, various mass events are held on the square, fairs are organized, and in winter the main city Christmas tree is solemnly set up.→
