Tereshchenko's estate in Denishi

Tereshchenko Castle, Denishi
Ukraine, Zhytomyr
20 km from Zhytomyr, along the Starokonstantinovskaya highway, on the banks of the picturesque Teterev River, lies the ancient village of Denishi. It is famous for the fact that it housed one of the estates of the sugar industrialist Mikhail Ivanovich Tereshchenko. M.I. Tereshchenko, being by no means a poor man, had several estates. But only one of them, the one in Denishi, was called nothing more than "Castle Tereshchenko". The estate was built at the end of the 19th century according to the project of the architect P. Hollandsky. The resemblance to the castle gives it a high three-tiered tower. Despite the fact that the estate has long been destroyed, its walls still retain traces of rich moldings and luxury.

The palace was built in 1910-11. according to the project of arch. P. Dutch. The estate at that time belonged to N. Tereshchenko, the daughter of a sugar factory, a real state councilor F. Tereshchenko. After the revolution of 1917, Tereshchenko's castle was plundered. Despite severe destruction, the surviving walls of the palace still retain traces of rich moldings and luxury.
