Mount Falcon

Kush-Kaya, Mount Sokil
Crimea, Novyi Svit
Mount Sokol or Kush-Kaya is a rocky massif 474 m high. The second name of the mountain from the Crimean Tatar is translated as “bird rock” - and this is not accidental, because here you can really see a falcon, an eagle, a hawk and a kite. The rock is an ancient coral reef that once rose from the bottom of the sea. Both amateurs and climbers often make hikes and climbs on Kush-Kaya - there are many routes from the simplest to the very difficult. From the top of the mountain, a wonderful view of the Novyi Svet Bay and the surrounding area opens up.

Mount Sokol seems completely impregnable, its southern slopes are completely steep - a favorite place for climbers. But to rise to the top, it is not at all necessary to be one. There is a path leading around the "lamb foreheads". Quite tiring, at the top of the cliffs are licked and you need to be extremely careful, but from there a truly stunning view of the Novosvetskaya Bay opens! Pure delight!
