Golitsyn trail

Golitsyn Trail, Falcon Trail, Golitsyn Grotto
Crimea, Novyi Svit
The Golitsyn trail is one of the most famous sights of the city of Novyi Svet. The trail was created for the arrival of Tsar Nicholas II on the orders of Prince L. S. Golitsyn in 1912. The Golitsyn trail starts at the northern slope of the Khoba-Kaya massif and ends at the Karaul-Oba mountain range. Walking tours along the Golitsyn trail are an integral part of the educational pastime in the Crimea.

One of the most impressive excursions, of those that do not require special skills to climb. Impressions begin almost immediately, as you enter the territory behind the fence. Everything is very picturesque and somehow not even in the Black Sea. Very beautiful rocks and views of different bays in a blue tint. On a very hot day and out of habit, climbing small mountains will be difficult. Stock up on water!

This trip took place when we rested in Sudak. Our company had a desire to swim on the Royal Beach, but not to go there by boat. A team of 8 people was organized, naturally they were going to the beach. accordingly, they were dressed (women in sandals, flip flops, men at best in sneakers, I was in sandals dangling on my feet) And, for a fee, of course, we were taken to a plateau above the New World in a juniper grove. I used to think that juniper is just a shrub, but when I saw centuries-old trees there, I was amazed.

This is not a shortened route, as it might seem from the name, and not a path to the fox hole, but a full-fledged attraction associated with a walk in the fresh air. To overcome the path, one desire is not enough. It will take time, physical fitness and a pair of comfortable shoes. The trail was laid under the leadership of Prince Golitsyn, and improved and expanded by decree of Emperor Nicholas II. The trail winds at an altitude of 30 meters above sea level and in the summer attracts the attention of almost all visiting tourists.
