The Carpathian Biosphere Reserve consists of 6 parts located on the territory of the Transcarpathian region, the central estate is located south of Rakhiv. The reserve was founded in 1968, and since 1992 it has been under the protection of UNESCO. Almost all ecosystems of Transcarpathia are represented here - coniferous and deciduous forests, alpine meadows, mountain shrubs, etc. The reserve covers an area of more than 53 thousand hectares.
