The Lincoln Memorial is located at the beginning of the National Mall on the banks of the Potomac River. It was opened in 1922 and is dedicated to the memory of the 16th President of the United States. The monumental building is made in the neo-Greek style: the building is supported by 36 columns, the names of the states are engraved along the wall. Inside is a marble sculpture of Lincoln, and stone slabs are engraved with his inaugural address and the famous Gettysburg Address.
