The Ho Chi Minh Zoo and Botanical Garden is located in the central part of the city northeast of the Reunification Palace. The botanical garden was founded under the French in 1865, and four years later - the zoo. Many tropical plants grow in the botanical garden; this is a favorite vacation spot for citizens.
