And during the Second World War, the Palaciu Hotel acted as an evacuation residence for several such families at once, since Portugal was lucky enough not to participate in the war. They say the hotel is open to everyone, but there is an internal security service (as in many hotels of this level) that checks the identity of customers during the reservation process...
