Weekends in Moscow bored you? Do you want a change of scenery, but are you reluctant to travel to distant lands? Get on the train and go to the ancient Russian city of Dmitrov: to go to it, nothing at all - 1.5 hours, but new impressions are guaranteed! At least we did, last wonderful May weekend.

Dmitrov is an ancient city, founded in 1154 by Yuri Dolgoruky (like Moscow), the city was named after the son of the Grand Duke.

Step 1. Pack your bag and hit the road! To Dmitrov!

Comfortable shoes, a backpack, money - this is probably all you need for a trip to Dmitrov. There are many churches and a monastery in the city, so it is advisable for women to take a headscarf. And in the train you may need an electronic repeller of local merchants : ) .

How to get there: From the Savelovsky station, trains depart every hour to the station. Dmitrov (the road takes 1.5 hours). I recommend buying tickets immediately round-trip (they cost about 250 rubles.

) so as not to worry about this issue on the way back. A more budgetary road to Dmitrov will turn out on a regular train, and with comfort and breezes - on an express train.

By car, you need to go along the Dmitrovsky highway of the same name for about 100 kilometers. You can’t miss the city, because there are signs everywhere.

Step 2: Must-see

Why is it worth going to Dmitrov:

- firstly, to see a very peculiar Dmitrovsky Kremlin;

-secondly, visit the Dmitrov museums (by the way, very informative);

- thirdly, to meditate in the gazebo of the Boriso-Glebsky monastery (which is much more like the Kremlin);

-fourthly, to walk around the city, free from tourists, to walk (and not on the subway! );

- fifthly, to see amazing wooden houses, architectural monuments.

Step 3. We make a route along Dmitrov

Railway station - st.

Sovetskaya - Dmitrovsky Kremlin - Museum of Local Lore - RDK (District Palace of Culture) - Borisoglebsky Monastery - st. Podlipichye - Kazan Church.

The best part is that the entire historical center of the city can be walked around in 5 hours (including visiting churches, museums and monasteries). Be prepared for the fact that worthy tourist materials are not sold in Dmitrov - it is better to print the card in advance, because the card that is sold in kiosks is very inconvenient, unusual for a tourist.

The first big stop is, of course, the Dmitrovsky Kremlin (12th century). As such, it has no walls, instead of walls there are high ramparts, on which a wooden palisade once flaunted. Like many Russian fortifications, the Kremlin used to be surrounded by a moat. The height of the walls in some places reaches 14 meters. It is worth climbing the shaft, because wonderful views of the Kremlin buildings open up from the height of the shaft.

According to ancient drawings, the Nikolsky Gates of the Kremlin were restored. Unfortunately, especially gifted local personalities have already burned down two gates: ((

The pearl of the Kremlin is the Assumption Cathedral (1507-1511), which is somewhat similar to the Archangel Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. When leaving the Kremlin, bronze sculptural groups of citizens of various classes are installed.

The next point of our journey is the Borisoglebsky Monastery. We go to it along Zagorskaya street, up to the yellow building - RDK - the house of culture.

In front of the monastery there is a monument to Boris and Gleb. The monument is interesting in that two equestrian figures are installed on one pedestal.

Boriso-Glebsky Monastery is a place of amazing peace. On the territory, surrounded by flowering trees and white massive walls, you feel protected from all troubles and enemies. Most of the surviving buildings date back to the 17th century, although according to legend, the monastery was founded as early as the 12th century.

At the Boris-Glebovsky Monastery there is a refectory where delicious pies and tea are sold.

Across the road from the monastery is one of the modern monuments - the Dmitrov pyramid. This is a monument to the wars who died in local conflicts.

In Dmitrov there are a number of interesting churches located on the territories of noble estates. One of them is the Kazan Church.

On the territory of the city, wooden buildings of the late 19th - early 20th centuries have been preserved.

Step 4 Bon Appe tit! National cuisine

During our walk, it started to rain, so we had to urgently seek shelter, and for one thing and eat. We did not manage to try the old Russian cuisine in Dmitrov. The restaurant recommended by the locals was disappointing. Therefore, I do not advise anyone to visit the restaurant "Old Town", it's better to have a bite to eat in a chain cafe.

The city left a very pleasant impression with an amazing combination of modernity, well-being and ancient ramparts, churches and buildings.
