I want to share with you a review about the DOL Niva beach in the city of Gelendzhik, where we rested in July 2021.

The beach is located in a part of the city called Thick Cape, which is an indisputable plus, because it is quite far from the city center with crowds of people on sandy beaches. The coverage here is pebbly, and the beach itself is covered with small pebbles, but the stones are already quite large in the water, keep in mind: entering the sea can be difficult. But it's all close to the edge of the bay, so in our subjective opinion, the water here is cleaner and more transparent.

What can I say from the pros:

The beach is wide. Even at the height of the season, you can find a place for yourself and freely accommodate on it: this applies both to sunbeds and simply if you decide to sunbathe on a bedspread.

The cost of sunbeds is lower than on the nearby popular Gardens of the Seas beach.

There is a dedicated area for bathing babies, as well as a lifeguard tower not far from it.

Availability of changing cabins, showers, awnings from the sun. By the way, the booths have a ceiling, so you don’t have to be afraid of the random glances of passers-by from above, from the embankment.

There is a cafe. We didn't take food there (shish kebabs are sold, corn, etc. ), but you can always buy some water or ice cream for children.

Smooth entry into the water.

Very beautiful sunsets from this place!

Of the minuses:

If you are there during the summer months, then be prepared that during the day children from the Niva camp of the same name are brought here to swim, so part of the beach becomes inaccessible to other vacationers.

Large stones and even boulders in the water are not very comfortable to enter / exit, especially for children.

Nearby are rental points for catamarans and banana rides, as well as a house where they do massage, so barkers for these entertainments often and annoyingly walk and shout.

By the way, they didn’t understand about massage at all - some type came up from there to vacationers and, without asking, began to wrinkle the neck of strangers in general. And even saw a couple of high-profile conflicts because of such rudeness. And anyway, how do you check the observance of elementary hygiene in such a place? The question is rhetorical, no way. We specifically observed once for the sake of interest, no treatment was carried out after people, hello fungus or worse.

In general, no matter how much we travel around the south of Russia, we always follow the rule not to use such local “entertainment”, as it can simply be unsafe, in every sense.
